The Sports Pledge The goal of The Sports Pledge is to empower athletes on and off the field to live up to the ideals of sportsmanship which includes a vision for interactions that inspire mutual well-being. Playing fairly on and off the field is the sign of true sportsmanship.
The Sports Pledge is a project of the Pledge to End Human Slavery, which is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, Public Charity – #47-1159320.
Founder – Jody R. Weiss
Jody has been an activist, philanthropist, and fundraiser for 35 years. In her early career, Jody R. Weiss was a sports agent at International Management Group (IMG), representing 45 elite athletes, including Bill Rogers, Grete Waitz and Rob de Castella. Weiss worked with these athletes on national and international marketing campaigns, including the sale to Mazda Motor Corporation of a multi-national track & field club featuring 216 athletes from 13 countries, and on the sponsorship of world class sporting events, including the IAAF Indoor Track & Field Trials, the U.S. Olympic 10K trials, as well as entertainment programs around the 1996 Summer Olympics.
Additionally, she is a mass consumer-marketing expert who has raised millions in revenues for consumer-facing projects during her career. Weiss is the Founder of PeaceKeeper Cause-Metics, which is a cosmetics company that has sold in 500+ stores, including Whole Foods, Wegmans, and Sprouts, and is widely regarded as the preeminent activist brand of the beauty industry. Presently, Weiss is working on gender-based violence campaigns and the launch of The Sports Pledge for Freedom.
